Kids First Alaska!

AAPP, along with Mat Su Health Foundation, Rasmuson Foundation, Southcentral Foundation and AARP/Alaska sponsored Kids First Alaska! October 19, 2010, a day focused on education and advocacy.

Those invited heard from some of the nation's leading experts about best practices in other states and new opportunities created by health care reform. We celebrated children's health and are ready to hit the streets to protect what we value most in these economic times: Alaska's children's health!

Two working groups formed:

• Advocacy: we agreed to keep each other aware of our organization's activities, legislative meetings and advocacy work as we build trust among ourselves.
• Education: we agreed to work together to increase enrollment, using current eligibility guidelines while taking advantage of enhancements and funding opportunities with health care reform.
